There have been numerous reports in the Parham, Bramber and Steyning areas in the past few days regarding Irish people visiting rural properties and farms and offering 'cheap' power tools for sale. The vehicles involved are Transit vans:
1) White Ford transit van VRM CN54UYJ
2) Blue Ford Transit van VRM 05LD872
Please report incidents of this type to the police immediately on 0845 60 70 999. The police need to stop these persons and their vehicles and thoroughly check them out.

Farm buildings were burgled at greatham near Pulborough yesterday afternoon, 13th September 2005. A yellow pressure washer was stolen. Serial 1386 13/09/05 refers.
The red Toyota pick up outstanding from the ram raid on the HSBC bank in Steyning High Street and police still believe that it may have been hidden on farmland or in remote outbuildings. Police are repeating their request for farmers to search and find this vehicle. If found please do not touch it - it needs to be preserved for forensic examination. Operation Venom - Serial 363 of 10/09/05 refers.

Jevington Area

Last night (16/08/05), a farm at Jevington was broken into and a large quantity of tack was stolen, mostly saddles and bridles. Of particular note is a Continental brand Western Saddle, which is quite distinctive (and valuable), which would not be easy to pass on around Sussex. There is also a black/green synthetic western saddle, western bridle and a number of English saddles, bridles, girths, saddle pads etc. Police are appealing for anyone who say any vehicles in the area of jevington, polegate or east Dean with a collection of saddles either in or on the vehicle between the hours of 8pm on the 16th August and 9.00am on the 17th August to contact them. Beachy Head, East Sussex

Horse equipment worth nearly £20,000 taken from local farm, Beachy Head: Sussex Police are appealing for information following a burglary which occurred at a farm on the Beachy Head Road overnight on the evening of Friday, July 8 and sometime before 7am on Saturday July 9. A large quantity of horse equipment believed to be worth nearly £20,000, including 20 saddles and 30 bridles, were taken along with various tools and electrical equipment. An aluminium trailer was also taken from the barn and police believe this may have been used to transport the equipment away from the scene. The barns are in an isolated position and it is believed the offenders would have been in a 4 x 4 or similar vehicle. The owners of the farm are offering a reward of £1000.00 for information leading to the return of the stolen property and/or information which directly leads to an arrest and successful prosecution of the offenders. Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen anything suspicious on the night of July 8 or anyone with information to contact DC Ross Bartlett, Eastbourne CID on 0845 60 70 999 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.

Stolen Ibex Carriage & Bateson Horse Box

Eyes down for the following items were stolen from a farm at Handcross Mid Sussex a few days ago. Stolen was a Bateson 'Derby 44' trailer which contained an Ibex driving carriage. if you think you know where they might be contact the police and quote crime reference number NM1/5277/05
